The Accounts Payable Manager, under the
direction of the Senior Accounting Manager is
responsible for all activities in the accounts payable
function. This individual will provide accounting
support and information for managers, staff, and owners
in the areas of accounts payable, expenses, record
keeping, and systems.
Basic job duties include processing
and making timely payments of vendor invoices, expense
vouchers and distribution of accurate records and
control reports. The candidate must be familiar with a
variety of the field's concepts, practices, and
procedures and know how to relate this experience
towards a common goal. We are seeking someone to rely
upon for experience and judgment to plan and accomplish
goals. This position is highly visible to senior
management and is counted on as being a resource to
field operations.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Other duties may
be assigned.

Supervise, train, and reviewed work
performed within the AP department
·
Daily reconciliation of GL Close of AP
activity
·
Weekly
review of payables and routing of checks for owner
review
·
Responsible for preparing month-end
schedules and reports for management review
·
Performs accounts payable portions of
month end close, including accounts payable accruals and
detailed schedule preparation
·
Work with vendors to resolve disputes and
ensure that services are not interrupted, including
reconciling of vendor statements monthly
·
Responsible for processing of credit
references
·
Prepare and process year-end 1099
statements
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
The
Accounts Payable Manager is expected to maintain the
highest level of integrity and confidentiality with the
company records and information. This individual is
expected to follow all policies and procedures of the
Athens Services company.
This
individual will have discretion to make independent
decisions, but is expected to review significant
decisions with the Senior Accounting Manager. This
position requires working knowledge of the Accounts
Payable process, outstanding customer service skills and
requires the ability to work in a team setting with a
diverse group of employees, managers, and outside
parties. The position requires outstanding analytical,
organizational, and oral/written communication skills.
The individual must be able to prioritize work and meet
deadlines. Solid communication, organizational and
interpersonal skills are required.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
A bachelor's degree in accounting or finance is desired
and at least five to seven years of experience in the
field supervising staff positions; or equivalent
combination of education and experience. Must posses
service industry experience.
COMPUTER SKILLS
To perform this job successfully, an individual should
have knowledge of database software (SSA Global/Infinium
preferred) plus the MS Suite of programs.
